LINCOLN, Neb.—The Nebraska basketball program has moved a step closer toward having a new practice facility.

The university’s Board of Regents on Friday approved an $18.7 million renovation and addition to the Devaney Sports Center, the Cornhuskers’ home arena since 1976.

The upgrades will be paid for with private funds. The plan calls for new practice areas for the men’s and women’s teams, locker and meeting rooms, office suites for coaches and a new building entrance with space for recruiting displays and public reception.
