For the first time in nearly five years, the Colorado State football team is getting some love in the polls.

The Rams are listed in the “others receiving votes” after the top 25 for The Associated Press and the USA Today coaches’ polls; both were released today. This is coming off Sunday’s nationally televised 23-17 win over Colorado.

The last time the Rams were ranked was No. 23 in the 2003 preseason poll. They lost the opener to Colorado, but were still receiving votes after their 2-1 start, but then lost to Miami (Ohio) in Week 4.

CSU has two consecutive home games: Saturday against Weber State then Sept. 19 versus Nevada. The Rams’ conference opener is Sept. 26 at BYU, which jumped to No. 9 in this week’s AP poll.
