“To get health care now is almost going to be impossible because no one will take her. We got a quote from Kaiser for $1,000 a month. I asked my job if my health insurance can cover her, but they said no.

“Now we’re in a vicious cycle again. Social Security has denied her twice, so they will probably deny her again. She’s on methadone because of the pain factor. We have to start weaning her off because the insurance ends in mid-October. The saddest part is that my mom has been trying to recover from the surgeries because she’s taking care of my grandma, who is getting sicker and sicker. I graduated from Metro last year and sent out 300 resumes. The best job I’ve been able to get is in telemarketing. But I can give my mom money every week for health insurance and the house.”
