The Class 5A Front Range League championship usually has something significant to do with this matchup. There’s a lot of new skill here, but also accounts for some of the best in the league.
Bear Creek at Chatfield, Friday, 7 p.m.:
Technically, Bear Creek has yet to have a home game despite being a visitor against its Big 8 foe. No matter. There should be plenty of offense and plan on staying . . . it will take a while.
Merino at Sanford, Saturday, 1 p.m.:
8-man’s West (Mountain Division) encounter will have top-ranked Merino traveling to Fowler to meet the No. 6 Indians. The Rams, who have a bye this weekend, have outscored two opponents by a combined 114-14.
