There was the Immaculate Reception by Franco Harris. There was The Catch by Dwight Clark. There was the Miracle in Michigan that involved a tip to the end zone and Michael Westbrook.
And there was one of the most incredible touchdown receptions in Broncos history, by Brandon Stokley, who went 87 yards untouched Sunday with a deflected pass — crossing the goal line only after a heady, if nerve-racking, interlude along the 1, with 11 seconds remaining to defeat Cincinnati 12-7 and deflate the crowd of 62,831 in the season opener at Paul Brown Stadium.
“When I scored I just remember, just quiet,” Stokley said. “The crowd was so quiet. That was a good feeling.”
