I don’t like every move the Broncos have made in my 35-plus years of cheering them on. Some, like the revolving-door hirings and firings of defensive coordinators of the last few years, really yanked my fan chain. But I still cheered them on.
If Mike Shanahan had returned this season after last year’s end-of- season disaster, I would have been 100 percent behind the team, even after I called for his firing at season’s end. Why? Duh . . . I’m a fan. — PA
Kudos to “D.”
Wow, I can’t remember what it’s like to have a defense! Mike Nolan won this game for us. — rybjammin
Margin of victory.
I love this team. Orton I can take or leave, but the rest of this team is full of warriors. Love me some defense . . . finally. . . . Too many drops, but at least they aren’t beating themselves with turnovers. — Orange and Blue
Brandon is the man.
Awesome play by Stokley; rube play by Orton running down the field like he had anything to do with it other than throwing a ball that probably should have been intercepted. Anyhow, my 3-13 prediction is safe. — offroader
Tough break.
How bad do Cincy fans feel right now? How can you not think God is against you with that tipped pass? I guess it will be another long year for the Bengals. What happens when Denver runs into a good team? Six points won’t get it done. — ukdenverdan
Pluses and minuses.
We deserved to win except for the penalties and sack that took us out of field-goal range. Stokley just gave us back what was rightfully ours! Defense looked much improved! Toto, we’re not in Shansas anymore! — sirfiver
No help needed.
Wow! Won the game without help from Ed Hochuli!
— Bronca
Record player.
My favorite saying, “I would rather be lucky than good,” fits the Broncos today. At least they won’t go 0-16. — dough
Looking ahead.
Nothing like snatching victory from the jaws of defeat after trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The mark of a good team is to win those games that you should even when you don’t play your best. Overall, not a bad performance by the defense, a bit of a concern for the offense, but it showed moments of greatness. The key is to continue improving and building on the season. — LiferBronc0
