Getting your player ready...

Before Brandon Stokley’s 87-yard game-winner Sunday, there were plenty of other dramatic Broncos game-winning touchdowns. Five of the best:

Holy Moses Jan. 1, 1978

It didn’t include any last-second scoring theater, but Craig Morton’s 12-yard TD pass to Haven Moses — the game’s second Morton-to-Moses score — gave the Broncos an insurmountable 20-10 lead against the Raiders in the AFC championship game.

Drafted a winner Dec. 11, 1983

John Elway directed 47 fourth-quarter game-winning or tying drives in his career. The first? He threw three late TD passes, including a 26-yard strike to Gerald Wilhite with 44 seconds left in a 21-19 victory over the Baltimore Colts, the team that originally drafted Elway.

Back-to-back blocks Nov. 17, 1985

In overtime against San Diego, the Chargers get to the Broncos’ 24-yard-line. Their field-goal attempt is blocked by Dennis Smith, but it’s called back after a timeout. On the second try, Smith again blocks the kick and Louis Wright returns it 60 yards for a TD.

TD from TD Jan. 25, 1998

In Super Bowl XXXII, Elway’s five-play, 49-yard drive against Green Bay was capped by Terrell Davis’ 1-yard TD run through a big hole in the line with less than two minutes remaining. It gave the Broncos a 31-24 victory and their first NFL championship.

Flag down for good Sept. 14, 2008

A Jay Cutler fumble recovered by the Chargers with 52 seconds remaining is called dead by referee Ed Hochuli. That gives the Broncos another chance. Cutler connects twice with Eddie Royal, on a 4-yard touchdown and a 2-point conversion pass that nets the Broncos a 39-38 victory.
