A 58-year-old Grand Junction man was killed today when he was speeding on his motorcycle, lost control and drove through a barbed wire fence in Mesa County, the Colorado State Patrol said.
The man’s name was not released, pending notification of next of kin.
Troopers said he was traveling west “at a high rate of speed” on DS Road in Glade Park, about 10 miles southwest of Grand Junction, just before 11 a.m. when the accident occurred.
The bike ran off the road in a curve. The man died about three hours later at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, according to a statement from the State Patrol.
