Name: Ben Hamilton
Height, weight, position: 6-4, 290, left guard
The buzz: Hamilton is preparing to start his 101st game for the Broncos on Sunday. No one on the team — and few people in the entire organization — have been Broncos longer than Hamilton, who has been here since the Broncos drafted him in the fourth round in 2001 out of the University of Minnesota.
Looking ahead: The shaggy-haired Hamilton, who can also play center, sat out the preseason finale with back pain but is now healthy — good news for an offensive line that played every game together in 2008. Hamilton has been part of the offensive lines that have recorded three of the four lowest sack totals in team history (2008 – 12; 2004 – 15; 2005 – 23).
Did you know? He is one of three Broncos who are second-generation NFL players. Hamilton’s dad, Wes, played on the Vikings’ offensive line from 1976-1985. Tight end Daniel Graham (LB Tom Graham) and quarterback Chris Simms (QB Phil Simms) also have NFL fathers.
