A company in Spain has created a bag that might deter thefts of laptop computers. When it’s wrapped up in the pouch, the computer looks like the front page of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Or El Pais, La Vanguardia, La Gazzetta dello Sport or other newspapers. After all, who’s going to steal a newspaper?

The creators, at a company called the Mitemite Unnecessary Objects Lab in Barcelona, call their bags “urban camouflage.” They say that the company “specializes in creating products which will spread a few more chuckles in a somewhat mundane reality.”

The colorful bags are made of a plastic fabric and have a detachable metal chain for toting. They’re designed for the MacBook Pro notebooks, but will accommodate any number of brands — the size is about 15 inches by 11 inches — and each costs about 60 euros ($85).
