The Mesa County Coroner’s Office today identified the 58-year-old Grand Junction man who died from injuries from a motorcycle accident in Glade Park Sunday morning.
Wayne Gitchell was speeding and lost control in a curve on DS Road about 10 miles southwest of Grand Junction. The motorcycle ran off the road and hit a barbed-wire fence, throwing Gitchell 44 feet from the bike, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Gitchell was wearing a helmet but suffered multiple injuries, the coroner’s office said.
