SAN FRANCISCO — Weather won’t be an issue for the Rockies’ 2010 opener. The Rockies will face the host Milwaukee Brewers under the Miller Park roof on April 5, after the league announced next season’s schedule today.
Colorado launches its 2010 home schedule against familiar foe San Diego on April 9 at Coors Field.
The home opener is always a sellout, but it likely won’t attract the interest of the Red Sox. For the third time, Boston will be in Denver, squaring off against the Rockies at Coors Field on June 22-24. The Rockies hosted the Red Sox previously in interleague play, and Boston clinched the 2007 World Series in Denver.
As part of the Rockies’ interleague schedule, they will also host the Blue Jays (June 11-13). Colorado’s American League road games will be at the Royals (May 21-23), Minnesota (June 15-17) and the Los Angeles Angels’ (June 25-27).
The Rockies have a nine-game sojourn through NL West cities to end April and begin May, playing at San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.
Colorado finishes the season with a four-game road series at St. Louis, concluding on Oct. 3.
