FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Colorado State University System will formally install Joe Blake as chancellor at an inauguration ceremony Thursday in Fort Collins.
Tony Frank will be inaugurated as president of the Fort Collins campus in the same ceremony.
Previously, the jobs were combined. The last person to hold both positions was Larry Penley, who resigned abruptly in November.
Blake was vice chairman of the CSU Board of Governors when the board chose him as sole finalist for the chancellor’s job in a closed meeting in May.
After media organizations sued over the closed session, the board held another, open meeting and again named Blake the sole finalist. A judge later ruled the closed meeting violated state law.
The CSU System also has a campus in Pueblo.
