Getting your player ready...

Hoopin’ it up:

Are you ready for some college basketball — make that a lot of college basketball?

Circle Nov. 17 on your sports TV calendar when ESPN, over three broadcasting venues, will air 12 live games (beginning at 10:01 p.m. MST on Nov. 16) during a 24-hour period — a boon for couch potatoes who have trouble sleeping.

And this marathon has a local angle.

The University of Northern Colorado will play at Hawaii at 2 a.m. MST.

High-profile teams, of course, get better time periods. Temple plays Georgetown at 2 p.m., and Memphis and Kansas meet at 8 p.m. in St Louis.

A bit of trivia: ESPN has aired 8,200 college games since the cable network premiered 30 years ago.
