DENVER—A union representing Colorado grocery workers at King Soopers says Denver-area employees have voted to reject the Kroger-owned chain’s latest contract offer, but workers elsewhere still have to vote.
United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7 lawyer Crisanta Duran didn’t release exact totals from Monday’s voting in Denver.
King Soopers spokeswoman Diane Mulligan says the company is waiting for everyone to vote.
UFCW Local 7 represents about 17,000 workers at Kroger’s King Soopers and City Market chains, Safeway and Albertsons whose contracts expired May 9. King Soopers and Safeway workers are voting on contracts through Oct. 6. Duran said Tuesday that the Denver area has the most votes.
Albertsons workers are waiting for more talks.
