CHEYENNE, Wyo.—The U.S. Department of Labor says a Canadian company has paid $212,000 in overtime owed to employees who worked at nine man camps in Wyoming and Colorado.
The federal agency says Edmonton, Alberta-based PTI Inc. owed the overtime to workers including cooks, drivers, maintenance workers, laborers and housekeepers.
A man camp is a temporary and often remote community for workers in the oil and gas industry.
Four of the man camps were located in Wyoming and five in western Colorado. In all, the company paid overtime it owed to 191 employees who worked at the man camps between September 2006 and September 2008.
A message seeking comment from PTI Inc. wasn’t returned Friday.
