Tens of thousands of recreational runners, walkers and breast cancer-curing fundraisers will once again take part in the Denver edition of the Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure on Sunday. And there’s still time to join them. Online registration for the largest Cure event in the nation remains open until 5 p.m. Friday.

The 5K coed run kicks off from the Pepsi Center at 7 a.m. Sunday, followed by a wave of 5K walkers at 8 a.m. and the mile-long Family Fun Walk at 9 a.m. Registration fees are $35 for adults, $25 for kids younger than 13 and adults older than 65. Everyone, including those who register to Sleep in for the Cure, gets a fresh T-shirt for their efforts. Participants who submit $50 or more in online pledges by Friday afternoon will be entered into a drawing for a pair of domestic roundtrip tickets on American Airlines as well.

The Race for the Cure also is seeking volunteers for a variety of tasks before, during and after the event.
