Resolute Energy Corp., a Denver oil- and-gas producer, rose 8.3 percent in its first day of New York trading after going public through its sale to a company formed by Texas Rangers owner Tom Hicks.
Resolute climbed 80 cents to $10.45 on the New York Stock Exchange. Hicks Acquisition Co. completed its $582 million purchase of Resolute after winning approval from its shareholders Friday.
