A woman was gunned down early Monday morning in a business parking lot in northeast Denver, police said.
The fatal shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. at 2535 E. 40th Ave., outside an AT&T building, said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
Witnesses saw an unidentified woman standing near a silver or gray sport utility vehicle talking to someone inside the vehicle before “muffled shots” were heard, Jackson said. Workers rushed to the woman’s aid, and the SUV sped off from the lot.
The woman, who was not identified, died at the scene.
