Jason Hammel became the fifth Rockies starter with 10 victories this season. Hammel, trying to impress enough to gain a spot in a possible postseason rotation, went five innings, giving up four runs on seven hits, including solo home runs to Prince Fielder and Mike Cameron. The Rockies are the first National League team since 2005 (Astros, Cards) to have five starters with double-digit wins.

Wild thing.

Brewers starter Jeff Suppan was his own worst enemy and the Rockies’ best friend. He uncorked a wild pitch in the second, allowing Yorvit Torrealba to score from third. Suppan threw another wild pitch in the sixth, allowing Ian Stewart to race home from third.

Home sweet home.

Todd Helton went 1-for-4, the hit a two-run homer in the third inning, dropping his average on the homestand to .433 (13-for-30).
