For the past couple of years, an area north of downtown has been attracting artists and illustrators, architects and furniture makers to its industrial spaces. The area has been dubbed RiNo, for River North, and is becoming a hub for those in creative fields. Now fashion is making inroads in the neighborhood (whose boundaries are Interstate 70 to the north, I-25 to the west, Park Avenue West to the south and Lawrence Street to the east). On Oct. 11, Fashion Denver will host its fall fashion market at Taxi, 3457 Ringsby Court. In addition to such design companies as Studio Yoshida, Lauryn Ester and Dandy Social Club showing and selling their creations, there will be mini-manicures from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The $5 admission charge benefits Youth Biz. Fuel Cafe will be open. Details at

Also in the development at space No. 106 is Goldyn, a showroom and store featuring women’s contemporary and designer clothing and accessories. It’s the bricks-and-mortar version of , an online retailer created by Melissa Gelfand and Vanessa Barcus. Among the 40 or so brands they carry are Adam, Development, Generra and Madison Marcus. Accessories include shoes by Charlotte Ronson and Loeffler Randall, and bags by Rebecca Minkoff.
