Rapids forward Conor Casey on Thursday was named to the U.S. men’s national team roster by coach Bob Bradley for World Cup qualifying games. The U.S. plays against Honduras and Costa Rica next week. Casey is not expected to miss any MLS games for the Rapids, who are off during that time.

With three games remaining, the Rapids are leading the wild-card standings for a playoff berth. They host New England on Saturday. Casey’s 15 goals this season rank second in the MLS behind Dallas’ Jeff Cunningham.

Missouri St. blanks DU.

David Buckenheimer scored off a corner kick for the lone goal in the 73rd minute as host Missouri State (5-2-1) beat Denver (3-3-2) 1-0.

Broadcast news.

DU’s hockey and men’s basketball broadcasts are returning to 104.3 FM (The Fan) and KRWZ-950 AM, respectively, after two seasons on the Mile High Sports Radio Network. The majority of the Pioneers’ hockey games will air on 104.3, with some going to 950. KRWZ will carry all regular-season basketball games and also playoff games.

Altitude will again air the Big Sky men’s basketball game of the week, including two Northern Colorado games: vs. Montana State (Jan. 31) and vs. Northern Arizona (Feb. 6).
