LOS ANGELES — The FBI arrested a Chicago-area man who is accused of taking surreptitious nude videos of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews in a hotel room.

The bureau said 48-year-old Michael Barrett of Westmont, Ill., was arrested at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport on Friday night.

Barrett faces federal charges of interstate stalking for taking the videos, posting the videos online and trying to sell them to celebrity website . The charges were filed in Los Angeles.

Tiger sport’s first $1 billion man

NEW YORK — Tiger Woods has become the first athlete to surpass $1 billion in career earnings, according to Forbes.

The magazine estimates golf’s top-ranked player crested the plateau when he earned $10 million for winning the FedEx Cup on Sunday.

The magazine said former NBA star Michael Jordan and former Formula One driver Michael Schumacher, at $800 million and $700 million, respectively, are Woods’ closest competition in career earnings.

Canadiens’ Markov injured

MONTREAL — Montreal Canadiens all-star defenseman Andrei Markov will be out for at least four months after slicing a tendon in his ankle during Thursday night’s victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

• The Dallas Stars signed left wing Loui Eriksson to a six-year, $25.5 million extension.

NBA approves expanded use of instant replay

NEW YORK — NBA referees will be able to use instant replay on shot-clock and out-of-bounds calls this season after the league’s Board of Governors approved the measure.

Referees will be permitted to check replay to see if the 24-second clock expired before a successful shot or a foul. They can also consult video during the last two minutes of regulation and any overtime period to determine which player last touched the ball prior to it going out of bounds.

Fighting Irish lose Martin

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Notre Dame forward Scott Martin will miss the basketball season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Martin, a transfer from Purdue expected to start after sitting out last season, injured the knee Thursday during a workout when he drove into the lane, coach Mike Brey said.

Brey has called Martin “one of the most gifted offensive guys” he’s had in his time at Notre Dame.

• The United States lost to South Korea 3-0 in its final first-round match at the under-20 World Cup in Suez, Egypt. Four of the six third-place teams go to the second round, and the Americans (1-2) will find out today whether they continue.
