Bear Creek’s Zach Thenell completed 30-of-37 passes for 371 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for another score as the Bears (2-3, 1-2 Big 8) routed Lakewood 48-23.

Fountain-Fort Carson running back Quinton Lawson shook off his lone rough game of the season by rushing for 172 yards and four touchdowns in a 53-0 win over Widefield. Lawson, who has rushed for 897 yards and 11 TDs in five games, was held to 10 yards last week in a loss to Pine Creek.

Palmer’s Andre Brown continued to sparkle as one of the state’s best pass/run quarterbacks. He had 238 yards and two touchdowns rushing to go with 276 yards and three TDs passing in a loss to Highlands Ranch.
