The Baylor women’s soccer team (5-3-3, 1-2-1) got a goal from Christine Clark in the 85th minute to top Colorado 2-1 in a Big 12 Conference game Sunday in Waco, Texas. It was the first conference loss for the Buffaloes (7-6, 4-1). Clark’s goal, off a corner kick, was just the third goal against CU in Big 12 games this season.

Pioneers blank FAU.

Kari Storslett scored her first two goals of the season in leading the University of Denver women’s soccer team to a 3-0 win over Florida Atlantic in a Sun Belt Conference game at Boca Raton, Fla. Goalkeeper Lara Campbell made five saves to earn the shutout for DU (7-4-1, 3-1). FAU is 2-9-2, 0-4.

DU volleyball team sweeps up.

The DU women’s volleyball team, led by Emmy Davidsmeyer’s 13 kills, swept host Louisiana-Lafayette (6-13, 0-4) in a Sun Belt match. DU (8-10, 3-1) won 25-11, 25-14, 25-23.

De Reuck, 45, finishes second.

Four-time Olympian Colleen de Reuck, 45, of Boulder, finished second in the Twin Cities Marathon in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn. Ilsa Paulson, 20, of New York City won in 2 hours, 31 minutes, 49 seconds. De Reuck was less than a minute behind, at 2:32:37.

Boulder’s Murray reigns in 5K.

Boulder’s Patty Murray hit stride with 800 meters remaining and went on to win her second 5K national championship in Syracuse, N.Y. Murray finished in 17 minutes, 23 seconds.

Lindstrom, Irwin move to match play.

Denver’s Jon Lindstrom and Steve Irwin shot 2-over-par 145s through two rounds of stroke play qualifying at the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at The Kiawah Island Club in South Carolina. They were among 64 players who advanced to match play.

Moore, Eaton, Duran advance.

Greenwood Village’s Janet Moore carded a 6-over 150 after two rounds of qualifying at the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club in Ocala, Fla.. She joined Greeley’s Kim Eaton (158) and Lakewood’s Lynette Duran (161) among the 64 who moved to match play.
