A man who received a tattoo but allegedly didn’t pay for it is one of three people charged with the murder of tattoo artist Oscar Chacon Mendez, Aurora police said today.
Mendez was found shot to death in his apartment in the 15500 block of East 13th Avenue in Aurora on Dec. 13.
Detective Shannon Youngquist Lucy said that Marquise Irvin, 25, allegedly was tattooed by Mendez, but didn’t pay for the tattoo.
Irvin is charged with first-degree murder and second-degree burglary.
Also charged with first-degree murder and second-degree burglary are Kenneth Jefferson, 21, and Oladayo Ayo, 27.
A fourth person, Temeka Portis, 25, is charged with being an accessory to first-degree murder and accessory to second-degree burglary.
Lucy said that Mendez, 43, died of a single gunshot wound to the upper body.
All the suspects are being held in the Arapahoe County Jail.
