BOULDER — The baby at the center of a suspected Lafayette child-abuse case has died.
Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett said Jack Koller, 4 months, died late Monday.
Boulder County coroner Tom Faure said that an autopsy would be performed but that a cause of death could take some time to determine.
Garnett said his office would be looking carefully at the autopsy results to see whether charges against the baby’s father, Benjamin Koller, need to be expanded.
He was arrested in late July, shortly after he and his common- law wife brought their son to the hospital.
Police said he admitted to shaking and suffocating his baby son on multiple occasions.
