Getting your player ready...

NASHVILLE — Avalanche goalie Craig Anderson, who sat out Tuesday’s practice with a groin muscle issue that also was causing him to limp slightly off the ice, participated in the team’s morning skate today at the Sommet Center. He said he would be ready to go against the Nashville Predators tonight at the Sommet Center.

“For sure,” he said after the skate. “I feel great.”

“He’ll play tonight,” said Colorado coach Joe Sacco.

Anderson, who stopped 73 of 75 shots in the Avalanche’s two season-opening victories, also practiced on Wednesday. Sacco said the team never was concerned enough about Anderson’s availability to consider calling up a goaltender from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League.

Veteran defenseman Ruslan Salei, who didn’t play in the Avalanche’s first two games, will be in the lineup tonight, Sacco said.

Tonight’s game is the first of seven road games in a 14-day span for the Avalanche.
