OXFORD, Ohio—Jarod Palmer scored a goal and assisted on another in the third period Saturday as Miami of Ohio beat St. Cloud State 2-0 to finish a sweep of the RedHawks’ season-opening series with the Huskies.
Devin Mantha also scored for the RedHawks (2-0-0), who beat the Huskies (0-2-0) 3-2 in overtime on Friday.
After two scoreless periods, Miami got on the board on Palmer’s power-play goal at 5:22 of the third. Mantha followed with an insurance tally just 20 seconds later. Connor Knapp made it stand up, finishing with 20 saves. Mike Lee had 25 saves for St. Cloud State.
St. Cloud State was 0-for-10 on the power play in the series.
