HOUGHTON, Mich.—Zac MacVoy and Chad Nehring had a goal and assist each to lead Lake Superior State to a 3-1 win over Michigan Tech on Sunday in the Superior Showcase.

Nehring assisted on MacVoy’s goal, giving the Lakers (1-1-0) a 1-0 lead at 6:21 of the first period. Nehring notched his goal on the power play at 12:06 of the second with assists to Rick Schofield and Simon Gysbers, both of whom had two assists.

Milos Gordic cut the lead in half for the Huskies (1-1-0) on a short-handed goal at 18:42 of the third. But the Lakers got a Pat Aubry goal 30 seconds later to ice the game.

Brian Mahoney-Wilson had 28 saves for the Lakers, while Kevin Genoe stopped 29 shots for the Huskies.
