ADAMS COUNTY — An 18-year-old New Mexico man has been arrested in connection with the death of a teenage girl found in a motel parking lot Monday and pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Joseph Daniel Mascarenas is facing a second-degree-murder charge and is being held at the Adams County Detention Center on $100,000 bail, according to sheriff’s officials.
Deputies responding to a call found the girl in the 7300 block of U.S. 85 in unincorporated Adams County.
The sheriff’s office didn’t say how old the girl was.
