LAKEVILLE, Mass. — The Secret Service and local police are investigating after a swastika was found carved into a Massachusetts golf course green next to President Barack Obama’s name.
Authorities say the vandalism was discovered early Monday on the 18th hole of the Lakeville Country Club.
Assistant manager Lou Mincone says the culprit might have used a cleated shoe or a tool to cut up the green and carve out the letters and symbol sometime Sunday night. The message is about 20 feet by 30 feet.
Gary Mosca, who has owned the golf course for 20 years, is an Obama admirer.
Mosca said he wrote the president a letter in January asking him to direct some of the billions of dollars distributed to shore up the nation’s banking system to middle-class business owners like himself who are struggling in the bad economy.
