House incumbent Markey, Senate candidate Norton lead in fundraising for congressional races

Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey led fundraising in the 4th Congressional District race, posting $340,000 in the third quarter from 1,700 donors, the campaign reports.

Republican challenger state Rep. Cory Gardner brought in $188,000 in the same period, staying in line with his previous quarter and bringing his cash on hand to $272,900.

A third 4th District candidate, Tom Lucero, raised close to $40,000.

Meanwhile, Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck, who is seeking the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate, clocked in at $158,665 in the third quarter and has $348,000 on hand. His primary challenger, former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton, brought in $505,000 in 10 days of fundraising, her campaign reports.

And former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, who’s also challenging incumbent Democrat Sen. Michael Bennet, closed in on $300,000 raised in three weeks, higher than the $200,000 previously reported. Jessica Fender, The Denver Post
