Because of the same budgetary concerns that have driven closures at other Colorado state parks, the Chimney View Campground at North Sterling State Park has closed and may not reopen.
The Elks Campground, which offers electrical and water hookups, along with rest- rooms with showers, will remain open throughout the year.
The closure, which includes a staff reduction, is part of a statewide reduction to manage a $3 million shortfall in parks funding.
