NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans will be without both starting cornerbacks against the Patriots today after changing Cortland Finnegan’s status from questionable to out.
The team announced the change Saturday. Finnegan had been listed as questionable Friday after missing three consecutive days of practice.
Today’s game will be the third straight Finnegan has missed since hurting his right hamstring in a loss at the Jets on Sept. 27.
Nick Harper already was out after breaking his right arm last week in a 31-9 loss to the Colts. Defensive back Vincent Fuller, who broke his right arm, practiced and is questionable. He has not been cleared for contact.
Rookie Jason McCourty likely will start.
Jets promote Woodhead
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Jets signed wide receiver Danny Woodhead to the active roster from the practice squad, and released defensive tackle Howard Green.
The moves come with the Jets possibly a bit short-handed in their receiving corps for today’s game against the Bills. Jerricho Cotchery (left hamstring) and Brad Smith (quadriceps) are listed as doubtful for the game.
Woodhead recently was converted from running back to wide receiver, and even changed his jersey number from 22 to 83. Coach Rex Ryan said the former NCAA career rushing leader from Chadron State could make an excellent slot receiver.
FBI investigated threats
CLEVELAND — The FBI said it investigated reported threats to former Browns wide receiver Braylon Edwards after he allegedly punched a man outside a night club.
FBI Special Agent Scott Wilson said the Browns contacted the Cleveland field office about the threats shortly after the Oct. 5 incident. Wilson would not discuss the nature of the threats. He said the FBI is no longer investigating any threats.
Edwards was traded to the Jets two days after he allegedly punched a friend of NBA star LeBron James in the altercation.
