Relax, fans of contending teams not named Florida and Alabama, the top two teams in the first BCS standings released Sunday. Odds are good that at least one of these teams will not make the championship game.
In the first 11 years of the BCS, only in 2005, when Texas beat USC, did the top two teams in the first standings go to the title game. Overall, 10 of the 22 teams that were ranked first or second in the first standings reached the championship game.
And consider that the Gators and Tide may play what most likely would be an elimination game, otherwise known as the Southeastern Conference championship game, if each remained undefeated.
