Streaking: San Diego State’s defense has held opponents to 1-for-8 on fourth-down conversions the last four games.
Who’s hot: Vincent Brown had his fifth 100-yard receiving game and ranks third in NCAA receiving yardage at 129.67 a game and is tied for seventh in receptions a game at 7.5.
Who’s not: Running game continues to struggle with only 20 net yards on 16 attempts against BYU.
Key stat: BYU dominated time of possession by more than 16 minutes.
FYI: The Aztecs have made gradual improvement under first-year coach Brady Hoke. . . . San Diego State offensive line coach Darrell Funk coached at CSU from 2003-07 and was a three-year starter for the Rams during his career on both sides on the line from 1983-86. Other familiar staff names are defensive coordinator Rocky Long, a longtime New Mexico coach whose final game with the Lobos was at CSU last season. . . . Quarterbacks coach Brian Sipe played 12 seasons with Cleveland.
