Sacramento State’s Ernesto Carranza scored the unassisted game-winner in the 67th minute as the host Hornets defeated the Denver men’s soccer team 2-1 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation game Sunday.
The Pioneers (3-7-2, 0-2-0) led early after a Sacramento State own goal in the 19th minute. But the Hornets (6-5-1, 2-0-0) tied the game in the 31st on David von Stockhausen’s diving header for a goal.

Dan Addiego’s goal in the seventh minute, his first career goal, gave San Jose State a 1-0 victory over visiting Air Force in a Mountain Pacific game. SJSU (7-6-1, 2-0-0) has won six consecutive games. Air Force dropped to 5-5-1, 0-2-0.
Pioneers fall in Sun Belt match.
Arkansas-Little Rock’s Christina Veasley recorded a hat trick in a 3-1 victory over the host Denver women’s soccer team in a Sun Belt Conference game. Freshman Kaitlin Bast scored for DU (10-5-1, 5-2-0) in the 69th minute. Little Rock (6-9-1, 3-4-1) led 2-0 at halftime.
Kim leads DU to 10th place.
Freshman Kimberly Kim carded a three-round 6-over-par 219 for 30th place in leading the Denver women’s golf team to a 10th-place finish at the Stanford Intercollegiate. Southern California’s Jennifer Song won medalist honors at 8-under 205. No. 4 Arizona State won the team title.
