FORT WORTH, Texas—TCU is eighth in the first Bowl Championship Series rankings of the season.
In what the Horned Frogs (6-0) hope will be their BCS-busting, they are eighth in the rankings released Sunday. That is four spots below Boise State, the only team from a non-BCS conference ahead of them.
TCU is undefeated halfway through its regular schedule after a 44-6 victory over Colorado State on Saturday night.
While the Horned Frogs also moved back into the Top 10 of The Associated Press poll Sunday with a two-spot jump from 12th, they have already turned their attention to Saturday’s game at No. 16 BYU.
The rankings mean little right now. Without beating BYU, the Frogs’ initial goal of winning the Mountain West title could be busted—and their more lofty aspirations out of reach as well.
