A Denver jury convicted Gradie Miles, 42, on Monday in two violent sexual assaults that happened more than a decade ago.
Prosecutors said Miles raped and beat a Denver woman in 1993, dragging her into an alley and stealing a wedding band that belonged to her dead mother. Three years later, prosecutors said, Miles attacked a married couple in a backyard in the 1700 block of Spruce Street, beating them both and sexually assaulting the wife.
His arrest was a result of the work of Denver’s Cold Case Project and DNA evidence, according to the Denver district attorney’s office.
Prosecutors said Miles would be sentenced after another sexual assault case against him is tried.
