One of the year’s most excitable crowds showed up to see the similarly energetic Gogol Bordello at the Aggie in Fort Collins on Friday. Photos by Tina Hagerling.
It was the usual raucous party and sweaty fare when “gypsy punk” rockers took over the on Friday evening. On the heels of the oddly mellow and melancholy opener , Gogol leaped onto the stage and didn’t let up until the stroke of midnight (literally).
The revolutionary-themed “Sally” and “Ultimate” opened the show, followed by a set of surefire crowd pleasers including “Not a Crime,” “Wanderlust King” and “Start Wearing Purple.” From the start, the venue’s mix of young and old, punk and preppy, were swept up in the infectious display. Making for what was easily one of the most excitable crowds I’ve seen this year. — Tina Hagerling
