A Jefferson County grand jury Tuesday indicted three people on charges they stole $10,000 from the Golden Applewood Midget Football Association.
William Edward Hilborne, 45; his wife, Kelli Marie Hilborne, 41; and Cheryl Wyckoff, 37, face charges of felony theft and conspiracy.
They bilked money from fees paid by parents for their children to participate in the youth football program, according to the Jefferson County district attorney’s office. The three were board officers from January 2006 to October 2007.
Prosecutors believe William and Kelli Hilborne withdrew cash from the league’s bank account, wrote checks and used a debit card for personal expenses.
