A man going through a divorce was allegedly stabbed by his wife’s boyfriend outside the Arapahoe County District Courthouse late this morning.

According to a release from Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson, sheriff’s deputies were called to the sprawling courthouse parking lot at 10:45 a.m. where they found the victim and witnesses.

The incident began when the husband and wife showed up in the parking lot headed for a court hearing on their pending divorce.

The wife was accompanied by the boyfriend; the boyfriend and husband became embroiled in an argument, according to Robinson.

The boyfriend pulled a knife and stabbed his girlfriend’s husband, said the sheriff.

The boyfriend and the wife left the scene in their car but were stopped by Arapahoe County Sheriff’s deputies at East Arapahoe Road and South Potomac Street and taken into custody.

The husband is expected to survive his wounds, said Robinson.

Before entering the courthouse, litigants, lawyers and court observers must go through rigorously administered searches. However, the parking lot is not patrolled by officers.
