NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans owner Bud Adams wants more of Vince Young. He’s getting just that with his winless team switching from veteran Kerry Collins back to the 2006 offensive rookie of the year.
Coach Jeff Fisher announced the expected move Thursday following practice for the 0-6 Titans, and Young got the news from his coach in the morning. Fisher insists it was an organizational decision resulting from the team’s winless start, and he won’t play musical chairs with the position.
“We’re in a unique situation right now. We haven’t won a game,” Fisher said. “We wouldn’t be having this conversation if we were 3-3.”
That means Young will start Sunday against the Jaguars (3-3), the team that helped send him to the bench in the 2008 opener by picking him off twice and spraining his knee. Collins started 20 of the 21 games since then.
“When you’re 0-6, then heads are going to roll,” Collins said. “More times than not, it’s the quarterback.”
Young has eight career interceptions against Jacksonville with only three touchdown passes. He also has more career interceptions (33) than TD passes (22). However, he has won five of his last six starts and is 18-11 as a starter.
NFL backs Redskins’ ban
WASHINGTON — The NFL is OK with the Redskins preventing fans from bringing any signs to home games.
League spokesman Greg Aiello called it “a team and stadium matter.”
The policy coincides with an increase of signs critical of owner Dan Snyder and front office chief Vinny Cerrato during Washington’s 2-5 start.
Bradshaw playing with pain
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Giants backup running back Ahmad Bradshaw will continue to play despite having a cracked bone on his right foot.
The third-year running back, who has gained 455 yards rushing, has seemingly known about the injury since the spring, but he has played in pain. He said doctors told him the bone could break if he continues playing.
“I just plan on going out there and giving it my all and if it breaks, it does,” Bradshaw said. “I’ll get surgery.”

Lofa Tatupu has become the latest Seahawks star to go on the injured reserve list. A team spokesman said the three-time Pro Bowl middle linebacker was having surgery Thursday to repair a torn left pectoral muscle. On Wednesday, six- time all-pro left tackle Walter Jones went on injured reserve because of a surgically repaired left knee.
• Santonio Beard was arrested as part of a massive drug sweep in Tuscaloosa, Ala., the Tuscaloosa News reported. The former Alabama running back, undrafted in 2003, was signed as a free agent to the Broncos’ practice squad and released after the 2004 season. Beard, 29, is accused of selling cocaine to undercover police officers.
• Cardinals safety Antrel Rolle missed practice for the second day in a row with a sore right foot and is uncertain for Sunday’s home game against Carolina.
• Saints fullback Heath Evans has a torn right knee ligament that will sideline him for the rest of the season.
