Getting your player ready...

Some things you just never see coming.

Although Brett Favre’s first game against the Packers (271 yards passing, three touchdowns) might have hinted at how badly he wanted to win, wasn’t Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field supposed to be tough on him? And didn’t that Packers’ defense learn anything?

Four touchdown passes paints a pretty clear picture. Too bad for Favre owners these teams don’t play again.

Speaking of strange, fantasy owners are at a loss with what is going on in Houston. Steve Slaton, who went from third on the Texans’ depth chart at the time of last year’s fantasy draft to a consensus second-round pick this year, fumbles the ball on his one carry and is banished to coach Gary Kubiak’s bench.

And in true Kubiak style (Broncos fans know), he plugs no-name Ryan Moats into the zone-blocking running attack and he goes for 23 carries, 126 yards and three touchdowns, making Moats a must grab-and-see free agent.

Texans receiver Andre Johnson also coughed up the ball and turned in another dull performance for the consensus top wideout. One unfortunate thing working in Johnson’s favor is the anticipated season-ending injury to tight end Owen Daniels.

Week 9 help available: Alex Smith (49ers), Carnell Williams (Buccaneers), Jamal Charles (Chiefs) and Julius Jones (Seahawks).
