The Boulder Adventure Film Festival will show “First Ascent: Point of No Return” 7 p.m. Friday, at the Boulder Theater. The 20-minute film is part of Sender Films’ National Geographic International series, a tribute to the three Boulder climbers who died in an avalanche on China’s Mount Edgar.
Made from footage recovered after the avalanche in June, the episode follows festival founder Jonny Copp, his climbing partner Micah Dash and videographer Wade Johnson as they attempt to climb the east face of the western China peak.
The Adventure Film Festival runs Thursday-Saturday in Boulder, screening more than 30 international films. Individual show tickets ($12), day passes ($20-$25) and festival passes ($50) are on sale now at the Boulder Theater. More info:
