A man was hospitalized after being hit in the head with a hammer when he arrived at a gathering in Wellington armed with two guns on Saturday night.
There were seven to 10 people at the house in the 8400 block of North 3rd Street when the fight broke out about 11 p.m., said Kathy Messick, spokeswoman for the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office.
The man, who hasn’t been identified, was armed with a handgun and shotgun. “A fight ensued. He fired a couple of shots,” Messick said. No one else was hurt in the melee.
The man was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies.
