Traffic in an area of Cherry Hills Village is being detoured by a gas line repair.

East Quincy Avenue is closed in both directions today from University Boulevard to Colorado Boulevard, according to a media release from the Cherry Hills Village Police Department.

Only local residents will be allowed access to the avenue today as crews work on repairing a gas line that broke on Monday at about 3:30 p.m.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area today if possible.

Two schools, Cherry Hills Village Elementary School and the Kent Denver School, were closed today because of the repairs.
