Hundreds of arrest warrants have been purged in four metro counties, including one that could have prevented a drunken-driving crash that killed a grandmother.
The dismissal of 1,109 cases, including 285 that did not meet pre-set criteria for dismissal, was authorized by court officials and Carol Chambers, district attorney for the 18th Judicial District, which serves Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties.
Among them is a case that may have represented the best chance to catch a wanted driver before his recent alleged involvement in a fatal drunken-driving crash.
