First lady Michelle Obama will bring her newly created student- mentoring program to Denver on Monday, giving local kids a chance to meet with her and national and local female leaders.
The aim of the program is to put students in touch with women who can act as their mentors.
Obama launched the program on Nov. 2 when more than a dozen high school girls from the Washington, D.C., area came to the White House and met with the first lady and members of her staff.
The Washington phase of the program will pair 20 students with 20 mentors.
In Denver, Obama will attend a midday luncheon at the Governor’s Residence, where she and national and local female leaders will meet Colorado students.
In the afternoon, she will visit a school, still not identified by the White House, while other female leaders fan out and visit other schools. Howard Pankratz, The Denver Post
